John Merriman began his career in his parents’ living room, where hevproduced a variety of television programs and spec commercials with fellow elementary school collegues. (Their work is collected on a series of tapes as part of the actor’s archive). He has starred in allvof Steve Collins’ films since 1999, including “Ballad of Courtney and James,” “Not Funny,” “Lonleyland,” and “Gretchen and the Night Danger.” His feature work includes Steve Mims’ ONE EYE PEELED; T’chaka Sikelianos’ A YETI IN THE CITY, in which he played two roles; and his own co-written, co-directed feature MY NAME IS BUTTONS, a sharp satire about someone who enters a medical experiment to become stupider in order to achieve happiness. He looks forward to reprising his role as Ricky Marachino in Steve Collins’ first feature, GRETCHEN.
